  63. File Manager StepUp (or FM StepUp) is a utility that improves File
  64. Manager.  Instead of replacing File Manager, FM StepUp
  65. simply makes it better.  When you install FMStepUp, additional
  66. commands are added to the menus of File Manager, and existing
  67. commands are enhanced.

  201.    encouraged to use the 'File-Copy' command and specify
  202.    destination 'PRN' to obtain similar functionality)

  204. -  the 'Space occupied' result, reported by the 'Total Size'
  205.    command, when applied to files on a non-FAT volume, should be
  206.    considered only as an estimate;

  208. -  special commands 'Run DOS Program', 'Exit Windows', 'Restart
  209.    Windows', and 'Reboot System', available in the Windows 3.1/3.11
  210.    version of FM StepUp, are not supported for Windows NT;

  212. -  the number of items in the 'Execute' menu is limited to 30;

  214. -  the number of items in the 'top' portion of the 'Quick' menu is
  215.    limited to 20;

  220. FM StepUp comes with a convenient and flexible Setup utility,
  221. which allows you to install and uninstall FM StepUp, control its 
  222. availability for different groups of users, enter the registration 
  223. information, etc.

  228. 4. This is TRY BEFORE YOU BUY software

  231. This is NOT freeware or public domain software.  This is software
  232. which you can "try before you buy".
  233.  
  234. You may install the program in your system and use it for an
  235. evaluation period of up to 14 days. After that time, you are
  236. required to purchase a license for continued use of the software
  237. or else stop using it. You may freely copy and distribute
  238. evaluation copies of FM StepUp provided that all conditions
  239. specified in the distribution license are satisfied (please see
  240. the license agreement in the VENDINFO.DIZ file.)

  242. What's the difference between Evaluation and Licensed versions?
  243.  
  244. There is NO functional difference between the evaluation and
  245. licensed versions of this software (except for the 'registration
  246. reminders', displayed by the evaluation version). Actually, it's
  247. the same program:  you may convert an evaluation copy to a
  248. registered copy by entering your name and a registration code
  249. using the Setup utility.  Similarly, a registered copy of the
  250. program may be 'unregistered' by deleting the registration code or
  251. by just copying the program to another machine.

  253. Evaluation copies of our products are 100% fully functional.  We
  254. make them this way so you can have a real look at them to decide
  255. whether or not they fit your needs.  Please understand that if you
  256. fail to register, and continue to use 'FM StepUp' beyond the eval-
  257. uation period without paying for it, don't expect the program to
  258. maintain its original functionality:  some features may become
  259. disabled.  If you need more time to decide whether you want to
  260. keep the program, we'll give you an opportunity to extend the

  288. How to purchase a license for use of FM StepUp

  291. ChaoSoft licenses the software on the 'per-user', not a
  292. 'per-computer' basis.  This means that you may purchase a single
  293. individual license and use FM StepUp on more than one computer (for
  294. example, a desktop system and a notebook), provided that you are the
  295. only user of those computers and there is no possibility to use the
  296. Registered Copy by anybody else.

  298. On the other hand, if more than one person uses a computer, every
  299. such user must purchase an individual license for continued use of
  300. the software, or a site license for the total number of users
  301. accessing the computer must be obtained.
